Our First Day by ourselves in KC-4th of July
We were able to find the fireworks (barely) but we sat in our car to avoid the big crowds and traffic.
Our 1st Wedding Anniversary came next. We bought a cake (since we already ate our 1 year cake in JC) and enjoyed a nice dinner at P.F. Changs. It was a nice celebration
Our Anniversary also happened to be Kris' 1st day at Cerner.
Even though it happened to be the hottest summer in KC (highs of 115 degrees or cactus forecast), we still wanted to venture out and see our new town. We stumbled upon live music in Zona Rosa, a wonderful outdoor shopping center.
We explored the Nelson Atkins art museum. It is a very nice, free art museum that is downtown.
After a month of living in KC, Kris started to really enjoy his job but I still did not have job. I organized at home, job searched, and hung out with a friend from church. We found Northside Christian Church and joined within a month of attending.
Since I wasn't working yet, I participated in a Chick-fil-a grand opening on National Chick-fil-a day. It was very hot (103 degrees) but so much fun!
We got to enjoy the Zona Rosa Beer Fest and our 1st KC Sporting Soccer Game.
(It was a bonus that they won!)
With my new friend, Kristi, I got to go to Michigan and go on my 1st Float Trip. We had a great trip and I got to meet her best friends in Michigan.
Our first trip away from KC was St. Louis for Labor Day Weekend. We got to see my parents, Kris' friend Jonathan, and the Phillippes.
My grandparents got to come visit for the 1st time. It was a hot visit. We were still able to explore downtown, see the hallmark museum, visit Union Station, and play putt-putt.
My mom came to visit for her birthday.
We had a girls day where we went shopping, had a facial, and got a make-over.
Tiff was able to visit for her fall break. We celebrated her birthday, took her shopping, visited UMKC, and of course had ice cream (and froyo).
During the months of August, September, and October we had many visitors from my family. It was nice to have people come visit. At the end of August, I finally found a job. I took a shift leader position at the Chick-fil-a in Liberty. I also started getting involved in our church. I started teaching 3rd-5th graders on Sundays, helping with youth group on Wednesdays, and singing occasionally for church service. Kris and I continued to stay pretty busy.
In the fall, we had our 1st youth group lock-in. We had Chicagian pizza, played Just Dance, watched Elf, and stayed up until 4 in the morning. It was a great night.
Halloween- All the employees were able to dress up for work. Kris and I also went to a Halloween party at our friends',Kristi and Josh's house.
Chick-fil-a Girls' Night Out-We went out the eat at Olive Garden and then went to a new dance club in Liberty.
Of course, I had to see the Midnight Showing of Breaking Dawn: Part 2 (the last Twilight movie).
For holidays, we had to split up our time a little different. Usually, we have a month off because of school so we visited both families during the Christmas break. It was our first year to only have a little time off. We decided to visit Kris' family in early November, spend Thanksgiving in KC, and visit my family for Christmas. It was a little different but we still got to see everyone.
Visit for the Holidays in North Carolina.
Quick Trip to Tennessee.
Thanksgiving in KC-I even cooked!
Getting ready for Christmas in KC.

Celebrating the New Year
Not 1, not 2, but 3 big snow storms! In our biggest storm, we had about a foot of snow.
1st Youth Trip-Conference in Tulsa, OK (We even tried What-a-burger)
Valentine's Day-Celebrated with dinner at Olive Garden
Quick Weekend Trip to Indiana in the Winter (Missed the 1st KC snow storm)Weekend filled with Fondue, walking around Indy, visiting with Greg's family, pizza with Nana and Pappaw, time with my parents, and hanging out with Elizabeth and Ethan.
Nana and Pappaw's 2nd visit to KC. We got to eat Oklahoma Joe's BBQ and visit with Cousin Brenda.
Adrienne and Corey's 1st Visit to KC-
Ate at Granite City, visited the art museum, and enjoyed Power and Light
Celebrating Cinco De Mayo
Glamorous Girls Get-Together for the Youth Group Girls
Kris' 26th Birthday-He wanted a casual celebration this year. I made him his favorite breakfast casserole to start off his day, we went out to eat at Jose Pepper's, watched Life of Pi, and ended with cookie cake.
In May (2012), I said goodbye to the CFA team.
I accepted a new position at the KU Medical Center.
The middle of May, I got to celebrate with Pappaw for his 70th birthday and we traveled to Oklahoma for Adrienne's Undergrad College Graduation. The day of her graduation was very eventful. She almost didn't get signed out of her apartment, barely made it to graduation on time, and had to wait on AAA to open a car that had the keys locked inside. All ended well with eating pizza, seeing Adrienne's apartment in Oklahoma city, and going 2-stepping for the first time.
On May 20th, I started my new job at KU Medical Center.
My 25th Birthday-My mom took me to the 25th State, Arkansas, for a trip I will never forget. We explored a haunted town, got lost many times, experienced a neat art museum, and visited the first Walmart. On my actual birthday, we went to Cooper's Hawk where we did a wine tasting and had a delicious dinner. Such a great birthday!
Camp Solomon Youth Camp-Took the Youth group to camp for the 1st Time.
Nana and Pappaw's 50th Wedding Anniversary Party
Overall we have had a great year. KC was a little hard to get adjusted to at first (and it is still hard being so far away from family) but it is really starting to grow on us.
